A Day Out with Office Colleagues in Daytona

What a day it was! Company had arranged for the Christmas party. Being living alone for last few months after arriving here for the project. A day out is a good break to meet all the pepople working on different projects and many of us living alone. And what a way to compliment it with GO KARTING race.

Met all the guys who have come here on the project and few of them are really lucky ones who are staying together as they are working on same project. After meeting them I started think is it only Me, Sandeep and Arun who are living alone. Anyways, the day out break is good to have and enjoy.

The time to reach the venue was 6 PM and it was me and Giles who were going from. Giles is the IT Manager of the client ad has been made redundant. I have to take the handover from him and start working. Giles have been hired by our UK company and will be working with us from 8th of January. We started for our journey to the venue at 16:15 we were taking precautions not get caught in the traffic. The place where we had to go is know traffic hotspot. Inspite of taking this much precaution we reached on dot.

We arrived at the Venue "Daytona" indoor Karting track. Not being a driver and didn't know how to drive I thought that I will not go for driving. But every one told me to sign up for the race and give it a go. Hence I enrolled for the race. It started with a brefing given by the venue manager and Race Controller. After that every hit the track.
1. Trial Race (4 Laps to get Familiar with the track and the Karting Vehicle 4 person per race) 1 race
2. Semi finals (7 Laps each race 7 person per race) 4 race
3. Final (10 Laps 10 person) 1 race

The Trial Race gave me a littel confidence on driving the best part of karting is you don't have to worry about changing gears and cluch. It is just the accelerator, break and stearing that is it. Semi final race for me was to enjoy the driving and getting familiar with track. I have been always been the 1st in the Semi finals race (Here the first is first from last;) ). Last Semi Final Race I was 5th. The final race was based on over rating of the person and 10 choosen will be competing with each other. I knew that I was the last person in the over all rating as I was the only one who didn't knew how to drive. But to my surprise there were 2 person behind me I was standing at the 19th position in overall rating. with 14 points and 30.14 sec best Laptime.

After the race we had a good time and food. After that we i.e. Sandeep, Arun and me left together for my home. Had a nice weekend good to have someone around instead of living alone.

All in all it was the best time that I had.

Old VS Youth

A wealthy old lady decides to go on a photo safari in Africa , taking her faithful aged poodle named Cuddles, along for the company.One day the poodle starts chasing butterflies and before long, Cuddles discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a young leopard heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch.

The old poodle thinks, Oh, oh! I'm in deep-doo-doo now!!

Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the leopard is about to leap the old poodle exclaims loudly, �Boy, that was one delicious leopard! I wonder if there are any more around here?
Hearing this, the young leopard halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees. Whew!!, says the leopard, That was close! That old poodle nearly had me!!

Meanwhile, a monkey who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the leopard. So off he goes, but the old poodle sees him heading after the leopard with great speed, and figures that something must be up. The monkey soon catches up with the leopard, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the leopard.

The young leopard is furious at being made a fool of and says, Here, monkey, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!

Now, the old poodle sees the leopard coming with the monkey on his back and thinks, What am I going to do now? But instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear, the old poodle says.
Where's that damn monkey? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another leopard!

Moral of this story????

Don't mess with the old, for age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill! Bullshit and brilliance only come with age and experience.

Your side, Others side and Right side

Imagine you're in London's Heathrow Airport. While you're waiting for your flight, you notice a kiosk selling shortbread cookies. You buy a box, put them in your traveling bag and then you patiently search for an available seat so you can sit down and enjoy your cookies. Finally you find a seat next to a gentleman. You reach down into your traveling bag and pull out your box of shortbread cookies. As you do so, you notice that the gentleman starts watching you intensely.
He stares as you open the box and his eyes follow your hand as you pick up the cookie and bring it to your mouth. Just then he reaches over and takes one of your cookies from the box, and eats it! You're more than a little surprised at this. Actually, you're at a loss for words. Not only does he take one cookie, but he alternates with you. For every one cookie you take, he takes one.

Now, what's your immediate impression of this guy?

Crazy? Greedy? He's got some nerve! Can you imagine the words you might use to describe this man to your associates back at the office? Meanwhile, you both continue eating the cookies until there's just one left. To your surprise, the man reaches over and takes it. But then he does something unexpected. He breaks it in half, and gives half to you. After he's finished with his half he gets up, and without a word, he leaves.

You think to yourself, "Did this really happen?" You're left sitting there dumbfounded and still hungry. So you go back to the kiosk and buy another box of cookies. You then return to your seat and begin opening your new box of cookies when suddenly you glance down into your traveling bag. Sitting there in your bag is your original box of cookies.........still unopened.

Only then do you realize that when you reached down earlier, you had reached into the other man's bag, and grabbed his box of cookies by mistake. Now what do you think of the man? Generous? Tolerant? You've just experienced a profound paradigm shift. You're seeing things from a new point of view.

Is it time to change your point of view?

Now, think of this story as it relates to your life. Seeing things from a new point of view can be very enlightening.

British People Drink Alot

A man goes to a party and has too much to drink. His friends plead with him to let them take him home. He says no — he only lives a mile away. About five blocks from party, the police pull him over for weaving and ask him to get out of the car and walk the line. Just as he starts, the police radio blares out a notice of a robbery taking place in a house just a block away. The police tell the party animal to stay put, they will be right back and they hop a fence and run down the street to the robbery. The guy waits and waits and finally decides to drive home. When he gets there, he tells his wife he is going to bed, and to tell anyone who might come looking for him that he has the flu and has been in bed all day.

A few hours later the police knock on the door. They ask if Mr. Joe is there and his wife says yes. They ask to see him and she replies that he is in bed with the flu and has been so all day . The police have his driver’s license. They ask to see his car and she asks why. They insist on seeing his car, so she takes them to the garage. She opens the door. There sitting in the garage is the police car, with all its lights still flashing.

The name is good, the brand is big
But the work I do is that of a pig
